Why Was My PLDT Application Rejected? Common Reasons & Fixes

Why Was My PLDT Application Rejected?

Getting a rejection notice from PLDT can be frustrating — especially when you're not told the exact reason. Here are the most common causes and what you can do about each one.

1. Blurry or Invalid ID Photos

The #1 reason for rejection. PLDT's system auto-scans uploaded documents, and photos that are:

  • Blurry or out of focus
  • Cropped improperly (missing edges of the ID)
  • Expired IDs
  • Non-government issued (company IDs, school IDs)

...will trigger an automatic rejection.

Fix: Use a well-lit surface, lay your ID flat, and take the photo from directly above. Make sure all four corners are visible.

2. Missing or Incorrect ID Attachments

Many applicants forget to attach all the required photos. Common mistakes include:

  • Forgot to attach a selfie holding the ID — PLDT requires a selfie of you holding your primary ID next to your face for identity verification.
  • Submitted only the front of the ID and forgot to attach the back side — both front and back are required.
  • Attached a passport but the passport has no signature — PLDT requires IDs with a visible signature. If your passport doesn't have one, use a different government ID.

Fix: Before submitting, double-check that you have: (1) front of ID, (2) back of ID, and (3) a clear selfie holding the ID.

3. Address Not Serviceable

PLDT Fiber is not yet available in all areas. If your barangay or subdivision doesn't have fiber infrastructure, the application will be rejected.

Fix: You can check serviceability on the official PLDT website or contact us and we'll verify your address before submission.

4. Incomplete or Incorrect Address

If your address is missing key details, the application may be rejected because PLDT cannot locate your premises for installation.

  • Missing house number or street name is a very common issue, especially in rural areas.

Fix: If you don't have a house number, you can use your Census House Serial Number. If you don't have a street name, you can use your Sitio name instead. The important thing is that the address is detailed enough for a technician to find your location.

5. Duplicate Application

If someone at your address already has an active PLDT line or a pending application, your request may be flagged as a duplicate.

Fix: Coordinate with other household members. If the existing line is disconnected, request account termination first before reapplying.

6. Blacklisted Name

If your name appears on PLDT's internal blacklist, your application will be automatically rejected. This usually happens when:

  • You have an existing unpaid bill from a previous PLDT account.
  • A previous account under your name was terminated due to non-payment.

Fix: You must settle all outstanding balances with PLDT first before submitting a new application. Call 171 or visit a PLDT Business Center to check if you have any unpaid accounts and settle them.

How an Authorized Agent Helps

When you apply through our portal, an authorized agent from K&WIN Telecommunication manually reviews your submission:

  • We verify your IDs are clear, valid, and properly formatted.
  • We check that all required attachments (front, back, selfie) are included.
  • We confirm your address falls within a serviceable zone.
  • We catch data mismatches before they cause an auto-rejection.

This manual pre-screening dramatically reduces rejection rates.
